From the workshop to the work

If the workshop landed, this is the next step.

A four-week group intensive that takes the workshop tools into daily practice: focus, recovery, state shifts, custom audio, and a protocol you can use in real work.

The real problem

Your attention is not broken.

It is being trained in the wrong direction. Every notification, every context switch, every unfinished stress loop teaches your nervous system to fragment.

You sit down for deep work, and an hour later the real task still has not started.

You meditate, and the session turns into another place to fight your own mind.

You push harder, but forcing focus from the wrong state just burns energy.

You end the day drained, then "recover" in ways that leave you at a deficit.

The reframe

Focus needs the right conditions.

Second Attention does not ask you to bully your mind into focus. We train the conditions that make attention easier to return to: your environment, your starting cue, your nervous system, and the way you recover between sessions.

Setup before willpower.

Design the entry conditions for focus before you ask yourself to perform.

Practice before theory.

Use short reps to feel the shift directly, then repeat what works.

Technology as a mirror.

Feedback can make practice easier to calibrate, but it does not replace the practice.

What you train

Focus. Recovery. State. Flow.

Different layers of one nervous system. Train them together and they compound.

01

Reclaim your focus

Reduce distraction and make starting easier.

02

Recover to perform

Reset the nervous system so deeper focus becomes possible.

03

Command your state

Shift gears at will.

04

Drop into flow

Apply focus, recovery, and state control to deep work.

This is for you if

  • You do cognitively demanding work, and your output depends on focus.
  • You are a founder, leader, facilitator, creative, or meditator.
  • You want a practical way to train state, not vague wellness.
  • You are willing to practice 15 minutes, 3 to 5 times a week.
“A lot of my meditation and breathwork practice has been more spiritually oriented. That has its own excitement, but the application of it from a practical standpoint is limited, because I am also a functioning human being with a job and a company and people that I work with.”
Participant, September 2026 cohort

This is not for you if

  • You want passive content without practice.
  • You are looking for therapy or medical treatment.
  • You want guaranteed results without changing behavior.
  • You want a purely spiritual program with no measurement.
  • You want the device to replace the practice, not accelerate it.
From the last cohort

The same person, two weeks apart.

One participant joined the September cohort running two businesses. These are her own words on the first call and on the third, two weeks apart.

Week one
“I work a lot, and I constantly find myself exhausted. I know of the tools I should be using to maintain my state and have great recovery, but for some reason I don’t do them.”
Two weeks later
“By day three I felt so much more present. I can really feel when I’m overriding my body, or when I’m ready to work. It helped me be so much more present with my work.”
On the thing she expected to resent
“I love my breaks, just staring out into nothingness. I have so much more energy to do the work that I don’t want to do.”
Participant, September 2026 cohort

Individual results vary. The practice is training, not treatment.

Ian Cross

Founder, Vayu Labs

In 2021 I spent a week in a garage in Kenmore, Washington with a full scalp of electrodes on my head, doing audio neurofeedback six hours a day.

For the first few days I felt like I was failing. I could not hold the state I wanted for more than twenty seconds. Then around day four I dropped into the calmest, most focused state I had ever been in, and I had been meditating daily for years and only ever glimpsed it.

What got me there was not trying harder. It was better feedback. I used to think of this as an effort problem. That week turned it into a feedback problem, and once you have an undeniable felt reference point, finding your way back gets much easier, with or without the tech.

That week is why Vayu Labs exists. Since then I have trained one on one with Dr. Jeff Tarrant, founder of the NeuroMeditation Institute, and completed every program the Flow Research Collective offers, alongside years of further work across the performance and meditation field. This cohort is the distillation of that, built around the tools that made the difference for me.
